21st Century Breakdown

Posted by itsfish3 - May 10th, 2009

Alright now, I have listened to Green Day's newest CD. All of it. When I first started listening to it, I hated the songs. Until I got to Christians Inferno, track 6. From then on out, all the songs are awesome! :]
But just letting you die-hard Green Day fans know, this album sounds nothing like their old stuff. AT ALL. So if you don't like change, don't listen to it. A lot of the cd consists of slow, emotional songs. Green Day is no longer that happy-go-lucky band of the 90's. They have matured in their music and it's apparent that they are not going back to their old ways.

Here are my personal favorites off the album (in order of tracks)

Know Your Enemy
Christians Inferno
East Jesus Nowhere
Peacemaker
Last of the American Girls
Murder City
Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl)
Restless Heart Syndrome
Horseshoes and Handgrenades
The Static Age
American Eulogy (Mass Hysteria/Modern World)

So I'll probably buy the album because I like 11 out of 18 songs on this cd. :]
